FAQ

Questions, answered.

The ones every Oregon coast business asks before they reach out. If yours is not here, just text.

How much does a website cost?

Agency quality without the agency price. National agencies typically start around $5,000 over 6+ weeks, and hourly freelancers run $2,500 and up over a month. A Winters Code starter site starts around $1,750. Same modern stack, live in days, and yours to own. Bigger sites and apps are quoted; every project gets a free consult and a custom quote.

How fast can you build it?

Sites in days, apps in weeks. A Starter site is usually live in 3 to 7 business days, a Pro site in 1 to 2 weeks, and a larger custom build in 2 to 4 weeks. Apps run 2 to 16 weeks depending on scope. No agency runaround, no "next quarter."

Why not WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix?

Those are mass-produced platforms: slower, plugin-dependent, and rented rather than owned. I audited 169 Coos County sites and the three platforms most businesses use averaged a D, an F, and a C on mobile speed. I write the actual code, which loads faster, ranks better, stays secure, and belongs to you.

Do I own the site, or am I renting it?

You own it. The code and the content are yours, with no platform charging monthly rent to keep your own site online and no lock-in.

Do I need an app or just a website?

Usually a website first. An app earns its place when customers open it repeatedly or it needs device features like the camera, GPS, notifications, or offline use. I will tell you straight which one fits your business instead of selling you the bigger project.

What if I do not have photos or copy yet?

I do most of the lift. A short questionnaire gets us started, and I can shoot real photos of your business and draft the copy for you to edit. No stock photography unless you want it.

Do you maintain the site after launch?

Yes. Monthly care plans start at $75 and cover hosting, SSL, daily backups, security patches, and edits. The person who built it is the person who maintains it, and the phone number stays the same.

What areas do you serve?

Coos and Curry counties on the southern Oregon coast: Bandon, Coos Bay, North Bend, Coquille, Reedsport, Myrtle Point, Port Orford, Gold Beach, and the towns between. Bandon is home base, and most work happens remotely with in-person meetings where they help.

How are you this fast?

A modern stack (Astro, React, Flutter) and AI tooling I built myself, including a memory engine called Demiurge that remembers each project’s patterns so I am not relearning the same lessons. Three of my live products are AI. I write every line myself, you own what I build, and the speed is real.

How do we start?

A free consult, no pitch deck. Send a brief, book a call on Cal.com, or just text. We scope the project, I send a quote, and once it is signed the work starts that same week.

Custom websites and apps for Oregon coast businesses. Modern stack. Days for sites, weeks for apps. Free consult to scope your project.
